As far back as I can remember I’ve been fascinated by fire, like most potters I am a pyromaniac, mesmerized by both the beauty of the flames but also the affect they have on my work.

As far back as I can remember I’ve been fascinated by fire, like most potters I am a pyromaniac, mesmerized by both the beauty of the flames but also the affect they have on my work. Without the firing process all we would have to show for the hours of work put into making pots, is pile of clay.
I have been potting since 1979 at the Eeles Pottery in Mosterton. I make wood-fired Stoneware and Porcelain and in 1998 I discovered the excitement of Raku firing which slowly over the years has taken over my production. I love the excitement of the heat and flames of the Raku firing and the random and sometime unexpected affects you get, which keep you engaged and drive you on in trying to improve.
I run raku experience days so come along and feel the excitement yourselves. See my website for detail’s.
