I love throwing pots, I love throwing pots you can use and I love where I live in Hartland, North Devon. I have been potting here for 30 years and 10 of those years in my own pottery and showroom. It is open to the public all year around and from here I produce domestic stoneware decorated with slips and underglaze colours.
One of my recent designs is based on a series of painting of chives I did. Another design was inspired by a favourite mug I had from the Dartington pottery that smashed. I started playing around with designs and finally produced my own peacock feather pots.
Each winter as the season quietens down I get to mess about and something will come about that takes me off on another tangent. I think that’s the thing about your pottery story it just keeps going on.
