"Illustrated functional and sculptural wares using Cornish clay."
I’m a 20-something potter, painter and printmaker based down on the Lizard in Cornwall. Using clay dug from the cliffs at St Agnes as well as my own foraged clay, often from the Helford River, I make wheel-thrown, one-off functional wares. I have recently begun to experiment with combining my painting/drawing with clay and have been illustrating on my pots.
I endeavour to make work that makes me smile, that feels good to hold and hopefully makes others smile or reach out to touch too.
I work from my home studio and fire in an electric kiln to Cone 6/7.
I have recently begun teaching in a casual studio in Penryn called Garath The Goat Pottery.
