I am a hotelier/chef, and live in West Devon in Lifton. I have a business called Lifton Hall and I’ve been here for 17+ years. In my spare time, I have for the last seven years, been learning to become a potter. Going weekly to Adult Education classes in Bude and learning with the guidance of my great teacher, Amanda. The experience I’ve gained there has been invaluable in exploring many ways of making and decorating ceramics. I have also done various workshops, including the 3 day throwing course at the Leach Pottery in St Ives.
As you will see from my photos. My styles are wide ranging! And I still yet have to find my preferred ‘type’ of making, so will happily continue learning to do different types and different styles. My aim is to become a full-time maker, but circumstances prevent this for now. One day!
If you are passing Lifton, pop in for a coffee or a meal, Open Wednesday to Saturday and Sunday Lunch. I have a small shop featuring my work on site.
