"A combination of techniques and influence from both flora and fauna"
Coming from an undergraduate in Textiles background I have always had a fascination for fabrics, particularly the textures that could produce distinct sensations based on the surface and material. There is more than the pure aesthetic aspect to be considered within textile objects, there is also a way to experience them through touch.
I work with Stoneware and Porcelain, and I particularly enjoy combining throwing with Nerikomi technique.
In my current body of work you can detect a combination of techniques and influence from both flora and fauna. These aim to evoke memories of bright spring days, when nature is blooming, birds are singing, we are enchanted by the movement of river water and we may enjoy the first warm spells of sun. A nostalgic glimpse of past days, when we gained so much happiness from nature.
