"inspiration from the local Devon land and seascapes and from travels around the Mediterranean and North Africa"
My varied background includes many years of interiors led retail a decade of dealing Europe-wide in antique objects and textiles, and latterly as a psychotherapist, using creativity and metaphor.
These eclectic influences are reflected in my ceramics work as well as the inspiration I draw from the very local Devon land and seascapes and from further afield, such as travels in the Mediterranean and North Africa.
I hand-build with a variety of techniques using black or white stoneware and porcelain paper-clay for finer items. I occasionally use hand-dug local wild-clay as a slip decoration, and fire in an electric kiln.
Working from my estuary side studio in the South Devon village of Shaldon, I create abstract sculptural figurative pieces, manipulated form vessels, coil pots and rustic silver-mounted jewellery, which I sell at local events and galleries
