Kara Leigh Ford

Kara is a full time potter, living and working in Somerset, UK. Studying Fine Art and Theatre Studies at Bath Spa University Kara didn’t discover clay until she was 22 (after she graduated). She started ceramics classes at her local college and immediately felt an affinity with clay. She enjoyed pottery as a hobby for 10 years alongside a full time job in marketing. In 2015, Kara took the leap and started her pottery business from a shed in her garden. Kara’s work is inspired by the textures and colours of the South West Coast path. Kara sells her work on her website and via selected shops, galleries and supplies restaurants. She teaches pottery via her online Pottery Club: via Patreon. Kara also teaches other potters how to sell their work via shops and galleries through one to one coaching and her online course ‘The Smart Maker’s Guide to Wholesale’. In 2021, Kara wrote her first book ‘Pottery for Beginners’.
