"Thrown and hand-built individual pieces in porcelain and foraged clay."

I have enjoyed working in clay for 40 years. After a degree in 1978 I set up a business as a domestic potter working in porcelain. Going back to education for an MA in 1994, I made sculptural figures particularly anthropomorphic characters. This led to work in the animation industry and a PHD in animation in 2017. More recently, I like to set myself projects that provide a structure to work within, but also the space to experiment with clay qualities and possibilities.
In the last few years I have been throwing again, making porcelain vases, bowls and lidded jars which are often formed from composite pieces. I have also undertaken a collaboration using foraged clay, relating to an interest in local ecology and questions of sustainability.
