“Silver-Birch inspired vessels”
Caroline Aisher is a ceramicist based near Newton Abbot working predominately with Stoneware Clay. She finds inspiration walking in the Devon and Cornish landscape and has an endless fascination with natural forms, light and contours.
She forages for Wild Clay and Minerals adding them to her work which helps to produce tactile textures. She creates Silver-Birch inspired vessels which are made from Stoneware clay, using an off-white coloured slip taken from the Wild Clay gathered on Dartmoor along with Isle of Wight Clay. She also creates pieces influenced by the Sea with a series titled Endless Horizons and River Estuaries. Her new work includes studies of Dartmoor.
She has taken part in the last 2 Devon Open Studios and is a member of Totnes Potters. She regularly takes part in local Pop up Shops, Farmers Markets and Craft Fairs.
