"I love the way the warmth of the clay comes through this glaze and that this clay is such a very basic raw material."

I am a hobby potter who works mainly in terracotta with a tin glaze, which I fire to 1120 in my electric kiln. I love the way the warmth of the clay comes through this glaze and that this clay is such a very basic raw material. I also make some large press moulded fruit bowls, again tin glazed and do some slab built work. More recently I have been making unglazed ‘jars of clay’, which I throw and then cut into. These represent our human frailty, that we are made from the dust of the ground and so easily broken. I sell at my local farm shop and occasional craft shows.
