Margaret Bracken

After 50 years since I trained for a teaching degree with Ceramics, it’s now time to pursue my own passion for pottery. I use either St Agnes local clay or porcelain to reflect the beautiful coastline and plants surrounding me; to this effect I use oxides, underglaze and slips, always experimenting. Throwing bowls, bottles and small items is a form of meditation, when don’t need to think, just feel. When too cold to use kick wheel in outbuilding, I handbuild in porcelain using my experiences of nature and a time I scuba dived in the past. My experimentation will continue, I have done raku at home, tried mocha decoration and on a path of discovery.
