Deborah ClarkeCreative Clay for All
"Clay has infinite possibilities and exploring some of those will always be a joy"
I have always had a passion for ceramics and have enjoyed learning and working in clay for over 20 years. I have been taught by some amazingly skilled Potters while studying Ceramics at Bath. Following my degree I exhibited in the New Designers exhibition at the Business Design Centre, London and I have exhibited my ceramics across the South West. My studio is located in rural Dorset. The landscape is constantly changing and I occasionally see deer strolling through the fields. The Jurassic Coast is nearby with a coast ranging from sandy beaches to jagged dark rocks protruding from the cliffs, with glimpses of fossils. This inspires the colours, shapes and patterns used in my creations. I hand build in a variety of clays mainly firing at earthenware temperatures in an electric kiln. There is always a need to have fun with clay either in the firing or the way the finished pieces look and I enjoy taking part in experimental kiln firings when I get a chance included a local wood kiln. Clay has infinite possibilities and exploring some of those will always be a joy.
Fun, inspiring and inclusive mobile clay workshops. The workshops are tailored to theme and ability. Ideal for schools, museums, community groups and residential care homes. Please see my website for further details.
