I am a figurative ceramic sculptor working primarily with unglazed stoneware clays. My figures are as much about the tenacity, strength and curiosity of the human spirit as it is the human form. They explore their surroundings and push the boundaries of balance and comfort; in fact some pieces literally and deliberately rock!
I love to create figures as they are the one form with which we can all relate. Each viewer sees a different story or emotion and in so doing are able to connect with the work.
I am very lucky to be based in The Pottery – Ocean Studios in Plymouth’s Royal William Yard. There I help to manage the wonderful community pottery, running workshops and courses…whilst still being able to produce my own work
