"Wheel-thrown red earthenware domestic pottery"
I live in an old thatched cottage on the edge of Haldon forest and have been potting for the last 25 years. I hold a BA in Ceramics from University of West of England and offer pottery classes for individuals. During my career I have exhibited nationally and managed the former “Devon Guild Of Craftsmen” for 12 years.
Although my last work was pit-fired ceramics, I have recently changed to making wheel-thrown red earthenware domestic pottery. Each piece is individually decorated with freehand brushwork, slip trailing techniques and sgraffito detailing, with the work then clear glazed to 1060 degrees.
