"The colours and patterns in the Somerset landscape strongly influence"

I currently use two very different types of clay and produce two distinctly different kinds of work.

The first, crank stoneware, is gritty, tough and good for building large vessels. It has a rustic look. I make these pots when I am in a tough, rustic and gritty mood.

The second clay, porcelain, usually Southern Ice, is delicate and strong and displays colour well. I have to be contemplative and ‘Arty’ when I make these pieces! The colours and patterns in the Somerset landscape strongly influence both kinds of pot.

I am a member of the Somerset Guild of Craftsmen. My work can be seen in galleries and craft shops throughout the West country.
