With my family’s involvement and passion being centred around scuba diving, both for pleasure and as careers, the love of coral and larger marine life, has always been with me. The complex, fragile and truly beautiful reef systems are an endless inspiration and to be able to represent elements of this, in clay, is both challenging and exciting.
Porcelain is a perfect clay to create delicate coral pieces, whereas stoneware allows me to continue my journey and love of throwing on the wheel and adding hand built elements, such as octopus handles, or clusters of barnacles. The subject and medium combination is endless!
