"Colours often reminiscent of the sea, sand and sky"
My work is mainly thrown using a buff stoneware clay as I like the way it interacts with my glazes creating ‘toasted’ areas. I fire my pieces in a small electric kiln.
Using a limited palette of satin glazes by double dipping, texturing, pouring and wax resist I develop a range of colours often reminiscent of the sea, sand and sky. As I experiment with surface designs and methods of glaze application I am able to increase my range of pieces whilst maintaining harmony in my work.
