The rough with the smooth
I prefer making with slabs, particularly rough, textured and torn ones, sometimes deciding what the form will be after the slab has been developed, using a variety of hump moulds, often adding wherever necessary an element of contrived control, though still using hand techniques.
The results are all about the texture and tactile nature of clay; colour is still very elusive, possibly unnecessary, but I’m keeping an open mind.
