I work organically to create pieces with expressionist spirit that encapsulate my interest in plants, floral patterns in the landscape and nature’s rich colour palette. I am a figurative sculptress and a decorative ceramicist influenced by my early French education in classical art of Greece and Rome and Auguste Rodin. I often take my inspiration from walks on Exmoor. “Exmoor is like an ocean crossing. It is a meditative peaceful place where dreams have no limit and where the mind can expand.” It is this peaceful state which directs me in the creation of the designs that I translate into ceramic pieces. I incorporate nudes and/ or nature themes and/or abstract designs in the decorative ceramics that I create under ceramicist Hayley Webb’s guidance since October 2024.
