Sue Williams

I live and work in Somerset on the edge of the Blackdowns where I create sculptural and vessel forms using a combination of hand building techniques. These are then fired using mainly low firing techniques such as barrel, saggar and raku letting the flame and fire paint the clay with remarkable surface effects and subtle flashes of colour. Each firing is totally unpredictable because there so many variables but that is what makes these methods so exciting. And so to the next firing – another day of magic. My work can be seen at shows and in galleries.
