Exploring the interplay of form and surface design
With the inspiration of coast, hill, forest and moor, near my home studio, I am currently exploring themes of industrial heritage. Using slab and coil built forms I try to reflect the feel, colour, and shapes created by the remnants of historical industries and by nature reclaiming the landscape.
I usually use a white stoneware with firing temperatures dependent on the intended surface effect.
I use my grannie’s name for my Instagram account. Millie Richardson Ceramics.
