| I am a local south Devon maker of ceramic plates and jewellery. My work is guided by my heart and intuition; created by my hands; and inspired by my soul home: the sea, coast, land and moors of Devon.
My ceramic pieces are organic forms mimicking the shapes of pebbles I find on the beach and are so named: pebble plates and pendants. I use a painterly technique in my glazing and play with reaction effects to create abstract images provocative of our dramatic Devon scenery. I have been making and selling my work since October 2023 at markets and fairs and am very passionate about the transition I have made from a career in education to this exciting journey of establishing my creative enterprise. All my pieces are made of robust domestic stoneware ceramic and are dishwasher and microwave safe as well as suitable for food use, but not food storage. |
