Call for studio potters to participate in LSE research project
Sustainability Decisions in the Small Creative Industries
This project seeks to understand how studio potters navigate their business decisions, artistic identity, and sustainability practices in their personal studios/making spaces.
I’m reaching out because I am doing research with studio potters around the UK, in case your members might like to participate!
I’m a potter from the US and a current master’s student at LSE with an interest in understanding how studio potters navigate making, studio spaces, and small business practices. For my master’s research, I am doing a study titled “Sustainability Decisions in the Small Creative Industries” and seeking to do interviews with studio potters from all around the UK.
As part of the study I’m hoping to speak to those with personal making-spaces/home studios and those who have been making pottery since at least 2020.
Attached is more information about the study, including more about the criteria and what I’m hoping for. See link. I hope to conclude interviews by June 20. Additionally, a summary of the findings will be sent to all participants around the end of August, when the project is complete.
If anyone is interested in chatting more about the project, the criteria, or participating, I’d love to connect over a short phone call or via email. I’ll work around anyone’s schedule and would love to be introduced to their personal making space.
