Social Firing days. 16th & 17th July. Tarka Pottery. Little Torrington
We had two excellent days at our annual Social Firing in the lovely studio and grounds of Tarka Pottery. 34 members in total [17 on each day] took part in a wide variety of smoky pottery activities supported by a great team of voluntary helpers. As ever with WPA events like this everyone joined in with enthusiasm and we all learned from each other in a positive, friendly and helpful atmosphere. In each of the very busy days we managed to offer barrel firing, horse hair and obvara decoration as well as glazed and naked raku with participants bringing their biscuit fired pots ready to decorate and fire. Everyone was rightly pleased with the pots they produced with some very positive feedback.
We are hugely grateful to Jax Williams for providing the venue and facilities and to all the helpers who worked so hard.
