My assistant, Kate Hill Smith, and I are making bowls for a fundraising event for Gaza. We aim to make 50 and are hoping to get another 50 donated from other potters. So if you have any spare soup bowls which you are willing to donate, please contact Penny Simpson (07969 468985) in Moretonhampstead or Kate Hill Smith (07861 258217) in Ashburton.
The event will be held in November in Ashburton. The idea is that people pay £20 for a bowl of soup, with bread, and get to keep the bowl. I have held these events in the past and they have been very enjoyable and effective.
Money raised will go to charities such as MSF and B’Tselem and Save the Children Gaza Appeal. More details of the event to follow nearer the time.
