"I have not done things in the accepted way; I think that this has led me to develop my distinctive style."

When I left school I trained in Institutional Management – I decided to do pottery full-time about eighteen years ago. It wasn’t intentional, but I do remember the excitement when some of my work sold from a little Antique and Collectable shop in Wells – I just wanted to make more. I’ve not stopped since. Being self-taught has meant that sometimes I have not done things in the accepted way; I think that this has led me to develop my distinctive style. I was accepted into the Somerset Guild of Craftsmen as a full craft member in 2002, having previously been an associate member. Being in the Guild has stimulated interest in my work.
