"I so enjoy making pots that can be used for food."
I began making pots in 1971 at the ILEA Adult Education Evening Classes at Hotham School, Putney. Still with the Adult Education Institute, I then attended an all day classes at Putney Art School.
As home and work commitments increased, my potting activities had to be put on hold. Now, almost 35 years later, having retired from teaching in Tooting and made the long overdue relocation from the city, I have returned to the wheel.
I am a leisure potter sharing the facilities at Alphinbrook Community Centre in Exeter, endeavouring to find a balance between potting, my love of horticulture and running a small farming business on Dartmoor with my husband Tony.
All my work is thrown functional stoneware, fired in an electric kiln to 1250C. I so enjoy making pots that can be used for food.
I sell locally at craft fairs and at Artisan in Chagford.
