"My love of colour and form, inspired by patterns found in the landscape and particularly in nature."
- After graduating in Ceramics at Camberwell School of Art, London I followed a long career teaching ceramics and art. I set up my own studio and started developing my own work in 2021.
My work demonstrates my love of colour and form, inspired by patterns found in the landscape and particularly in nature. My ceramics are contemporary, handbuilt earthenware pieces in white clay, usually functional and all hand-painted using a palette of oxides, slips and underglaze colours. I devote time making preliminary studies from walks over the rolling Dorset countryside, through the New Forest and along Cornish coastlines .
More recently I have developed a body of work, through altered slabs of clay, individually decorating each piece with images developed from observations of gardens, meadows, forests, woodland and coastlines.
