"My priority is to make pieces which give me pleasure and make me smile"

I work in a converted garage at our house near Start Point and am probably the most southerly potter in Devon. I work in stoneware, porcelain and earthenware and I’m a member and regular exhibitor with SHAF, the South Hams Arts Forum. The photos on this page reflect the eclectic range of influences and methods used and my priority is to make pieces which give me pleasure and make me smile. Much of my work is made on the wheel but I also use slab and coil techniques to suit what is being made. They are then fired and glazed in an electric kiln, or as in the case of earthenware pieces, left unglazed.

Teaching

I’ve taught pottery in schools for over thirty years and give lessons to beginners and the more advanced. For details see link.
