Amy Thornley-Heard

"Much of my work is sculptural, however, I make simple tableware"

Based in Sampford Peverell, Mid Devon, I run Amy Thornley-Heard Artist as a ceramic and art practice from my home studio.

I work predominantly in white stoneware and my themes include womanhood and the female experience, Paleolithic and Neolithic Goddess culture, soil, agriculture and insect life.

My work is centred around ceramics though I am also interested in print, collage and mark making.  Much of my work is sculptural, however, I make simple tableware including bowls, plates and beakers.

Previously in my ceramics career I have practiced from Clapham Pottery and 401 1/2 studios in London and from the Clay Shed and Mivart Studios in Bristol.
