Ceramics Symposium: Join us for a day of talks by artists and experts in ceramics
Messums Wiltshire Court Street Tisbury Salisbury SP3 6LW is holding a ceramic symposium on the 1st April, 10-5pm, details below:
Morning Enjoy presentations from the artists in our Abstract Ceramics exhibition, Natasha Daintry, Nick Lees, and James Rigler, followed by an In Conversation with Ceramicist, and their teacher at the RCA, Martin Smith.
Afternoon Thiébaut Chagué presents his work and the Messums’ Wood-Fired Kiln project. See the fired sculpture emerge from the on-site kiln. Followed by a talk from Messums’ Assistant Programmer, Natalie Baerselman le Gros, on Abstraction and the Vessel, drawn from her PhD research. The day will culminate in a talk by renowned ceramic historian, writer and curator, Paul Greenhalgh, author of Ceramic Art and Civilisation (Bloomsbury, 2020).
After, join us for drinks and supper at the Messums Restaurant.
