One of Britain’s leading archaeologists and broadcasters, presenter of BBC2’s Meet the Ancestors, and self-confessed ‘potaholic’ Julian Richards explores the sometimes surprising 6000 year history of ceramics in Britain. From the earlier pots of the Neolithic Era to some surprising contemporary uses, from fine Wedgwood porcelain to the bricks that built our cities, Julian will explore the changes in technology, taste and society which have occurred over this timespan in a unique and hugely entertaining new talk.

Ceramics are part of all our lives, from the plates that we eat off and the mugs that we drink from, to the floors we walk on.
